Marlene & Nico

Who we are

Background of the company and our mission

"Since childhood, I've always wanted to build an RC car, preferably the Audi Sport Quattro S1, as it was a legend during my youth, and I followed all rallies on television." Nico tells.

In 2010, the first RC cars were purchased, and initial attempts were made on racing tracks. The passion for automobiles and RC has always been present. An RC car offers a high degree of freedom in modification, optimization, or tuning, much more than a real car, at a significantly lower price. Fourteen years in the development department in the automotive industry were the roots of our vision to develop and build a rally car. But not only that, but also to connect the car with people who share the same interest, feel the same passion, and will share this knowledge about the car. We want to engage parents who build and drive our cars together with their children, as well as professional drivers with track experience.

We intend to establish a WhatsApp group where members can exchange ideas on optimizations, tuning, and boundary areas. Our goal is to create a professional platform for knowledge exchange and discussion of relevant topics.

YouTube videos will cover many details of the car. Exchange of car settings, assembly, or simply driving the car on different terrains will take place through the WhatsApp group. We will provide a broad knowledge base from parking lots on weekends to racing tracks. A setup sheet will form the basis for the community, outlining the perfect adjustments for the car in various scenarios.

The fundamental concept is to have a car for everyone, regardless of their experience in model building. The entry-level vehicle is suitable for beginners in model building and can be upgraded at a later stage with stronger motors and controllers, as well as the necessary know-how sourced from the community.

Our goal is handcrafted rally cars for extreme competition use, with a focus on extreme drivetrain design featuring components like slip clutches, aluminum control arms, maximum motor tuning with specially selected batteries, and LED lights controlled via remote to enable night rally driving.

We have ambitious plans, and you are warmly invited to join us on this journey.

Milestones of the RC Manufaktur and the people behind it

RC Manufaktur was founded in 2015 with the goal of recreating the Audi Sport Quattro S1 as faithfully as possible in remote-controlled form, with the license and approval of AUDI AG. This idea emerged as a hobby alongside the founders' primary business, Marlene and Nico.

With AUDI AG's official license, the first 1/8 scale petrol-powered model was delivered on January 6, 2015. Subsequent models for the Sport Quattro in rally and road versions followed. Production was halted in 2017 as the tools needed upgrading and were not suitable for larger series.

During the COVID period, considerations for new production were initiated. In 2022, our own vacuum thermoforming machine was acquired, and the thermoforming process was optimized. Over three years during COVID, track experience was accumulated to learn the optimal vehicle setup, knowledge now intended to be shared with the community. We aim to connect people and share our knowledge, ensuring parents and their children have as much fun with us as professional racers among you.

The company was relocated from Germany to Malta in 2022, where model production now takes place. With Malta boasting 300 days of sunshine per year, all tests are conducted, and components developed there. Malta has a competent supplier network to support all production processes. Malta serves as an ideal logistical hub for serving the European market.

The production company's holding is located in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. The country is also ideal for conducting hot climate tests, and videos will be shared with the community accordingly. On March 1, 2024, the new webshop quantum-rc.com was launched. The 1/10 scale Audi Sport Quattro S1 marks the company's starting point.

Further Audi models and vehicles from other manufacturers will follow, in scales of 1/10 and 1/8. Which vehicle will come in which scale later will also be decided together with you, and you will be part of that decision-making process.
